Biography:
Kent S. Handleman, Senior Vice President – Marketing of Lincoln Property Company in Los Angeles has most recently conducted the leasing effort as Senior Vice President of Thomas Properties Group, Inc. in Southern California since 2003. This includes City National Plaza, a 2.6 million square foot premier office complex in downtown Los Angeles, Campus El Segundo in El Segundo along with other office and development properties. Kent joined Thomas from CB Richard Ellis where he represented tenants and landlords in the leasing, disposition and/or marketing of commercial office property from 1998 to 2003. Kent has over 20 years of transactional experience encompassing in excess of seven million square feet of space.
Kent’s tenure in the industry began in 1984 with three years’ experience in real estate acquisitions and financial analysis for a pension fund advisor. After completing his MBA at the Marshall School of Business at USC in 1989, Kent joined MetLife Real Estate Investments and, in addition to hotel and multi-family projects, oversaw leasing and asset management for a three and one-half million square foot office building portfolio including two and one-half million square feet in downtown Los Angeles. In these two projects, he negotiated five of the largest lease transactions completed in Los Angeles from 1995 to 1998. In his capacity as asset manager, Kent also directed property management and was responsible for making business/investment decisions on these office, hotel and apartment projects as owner’s representative.
In 1998, Kent joined CB Richard Ellis where he was Vice President of corporate services and led tenant representation assignments in the Los Angeles area and nationally on over two million square feet of transactions.
He is active in the real estate community and is a past co-chairman of the Los Angeles Commercial Realty Association. In addition, Kent is a supporting member of a Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles charity group and serves as a mentor in the Career Advantage Program at the Marshall School of Business at USC. Kent also has an undergraduate degree in Business from the Marshall School. He is a licensed real estate professional in the state of California.
